I am not impressed with the examples of sportsmanship or the competitors "best not being good enough" attitude at these Olympics. It has not been the positive experience I had hoped it would be for my girls, especially since this is the first Olympics that they have been old enough to understand properly and relate to as competitive swimmers themselves. Thankfully they see that giving your best is the most important thing and making it to Olympic level is an excellent achievement in itself.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8324093991910698285.post-36137432303622126792012-07-31T20:35:36.238+10:002012-07-31T20:35:36.238+10:00I'm not sure if my previous commented posted o...I'm not sure if my previous commented posted or not. There is so much pressure around these sports stars, and some of them are so young. They spend their whole lives working towards this goal of being at the Olympics. It's such a shame that if they don't win they are disappointed. Only one person can win on the day. As we saw with the girls medley relay, if they can relax and enjoy the race, without so much expectation, they are more likely t win. Though it shouldn't matter if they don't win.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8324093991910698285.post-8876453052686491062012-07-31T18:26:55.064+10:002012-07-31T18:26:55.064+10:00What great kids you have. How can we let a young girl feel that much pressure that silver is not enough. turns out everyone spoke about how silver was enough, but my heart was really sad for her in what should have been a glorious moment for her, she can second in the world.Mrs Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17315306897011205854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8324093991910698285.post-52491083378836369632012-07-31T10:22:48.984+10:002012-07-31T10:22:48.984+10:00Great conversations, and really important issues t...Great conversations, and really important issues to talk about. And this Olympics in particular has turned me off even more.

The 13 year old recently was on a debating team which won and they were on the affirmative of the "Olympics are a waste of money".PlanningQueenhttp://planningwithkids.com/noreply@blogger.com
